Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Florida Licensed Professional Surveyor & Mapper to lead transportation survey projects across Florida. You will oversee surveys, ensure FDOT compliance, and provide technical leadership on data collection and mapping using modern geospatial tools.

Qualifications

• Active Florida PSM license required.
• 0-5+ years of licensure experience encouraged.
• Experience with transportation and roadway surveys.
• Familiarity with FDOT standards and survey requirements.
• Reviewing plats, legal descriptions, boundary surveys, ROW mapping, staking.
• Knowledge of survey equipment, GPS, robotic total stations.
• Mobile LiDAR experience preferred; data processing a plus.
• Software familiarity with MicroStation, Civil 3D, Trimble/BCC, OpenRoads.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation survey projects from planning to final deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with Florida statutes, FDOT standards, and client specs.
• Review and certify survey documents and mapping products.
• Mentor survey technicians and field crews.
• Coordinate with engineers, PMs, and public agencies.
• Support Mobile LiDAR initiatives and emerging geospatial tech.
• Maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Florida Licensed Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) to support a growing transportation practice serving public infrastructure clients throughout Florida.

This role will oversee transportation survey projects, provide technical leadership, review survey deliverables, and ensure compliance with FDOT standards and Florida surveying regulations. Candidates with experience in Mobile LiDAR and modern geospatial technologies are highly preferred.

Qualifications:

• Active Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) license required
• 0-5+ years of experience after licensure (all experience levels encouraged to apply)
• Experience performing or managing transportation and roadway survey projects
• Familiarity with FDOT standards, procedures, and survey requirements
• Experience reviewing plats, legal descriptions, boundary surveys, right-of-way mapping, and construction staking
• Working knowledge of survey equipment, GPS, robotic total stations, and data collection technologies
• Mobile LiDAR experience strongly preferred
• Experience processing point cloud data is a plus
• Familiarity with MicroStation, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Cyclone, OpenRoads, or similar software is beneficial
• Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
• Ability to coordinate with engineers, project managers, and public agencies

Preferred Experience:

• Mobile LiDAR data acquisition or processing
• Utility corridor or right-of-way surveys
• Topographic surveys for transportation design
• Hydrographic or aerial mapping experience
• QA/QC of survey deliverables
• Project management and client interaction
• Experience supporting large FDOT District projects
