Job summary

Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY is seeking a Licensed Senior Security Officer for the full-time Evening shift. Under the direction of the Lead Security Officer, you will provide armed, uniformed security coverage across SPHP campuses and help protect staff, patients, and visitors.

You will assess threats, respond to incidents, and file thorough reports while coordinating with law enforcement as needed. Requirements include High School Diploma, valid NYS Driver’s License, unexpired NYS Armed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License.
• Unexpired NYS Armed Security Guard License (incl. firearms training and NYS pistol permit).
• Minimum five years Armed Security Guard experience.
• Five years healthcare/hospital security or five years law enforcement preferred.
• Knowledge of NY Penal Law and Criminal Procedure Law.
• Knowledge and understanding of the use of force continuum and its applications.
• Active police officer certification; license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Licensed Sr. Security Officer - Samaritan Hospital - FT Evenings -Troy

Under the direction of the Lead Security Officer, is responsible for the performance of all security and safety duties as assigned. Provide armed, uniformed Security presence throughout SPHP campuses. Senior Security Officers will assess threats, provide immediate response to, and mitigate offenses against public order, life and safety of colleagues, staff, patients, visitors and others on and within the buildings and grounds of SPHP. Offenses or events requiring investigation and thorough reporting will be made and submitted to Lead Security Officer and other SPHP Leadership. Coordination with law enforcement agencies based on threat assessment and offenses. Pick up hours as the need arises, at our Acute care facilities, other than primary work location.

Pay Information

Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.70

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
