Bear Mountain Healthcare in Massachusetts is seeking Licensed Social Workers to support residents in our skilled nursing centers. The SW will assess psychosocial needs, connect residents with services, and advocate for dignity and independence in line with NASW ethics.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication and assessment skills, familiarity with state and federal regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Licensed Social Worker (MA) required.
• Nursing home experience preferred.
• Vaccination per MA Department of Public Health regulations, including booster when eligible.

Role:

The Social Worker “SW” manages the psychosocial, mental, and emotional needs of residents residing in a skilled nursing center. The SW will develop and/or aide in the access of services. Services will be provided in accordance with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics along with strict adherence to government regulations. The SW is responsible for fostering a climate, policies and routines that enable residents to maximize their individuality, independence, and dignity. This climate shall provide residents with the highest practical level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being and quality of life.

Skills:

The nursing home social worker must have skills in communication, assessment and social work methods and techniques. He/she should be able to work effectively with a variety of disciplines in an individual and team setting. He/she should have a working understanding of social systems along with the ability to implement pertinent state and federal regulations.
