About the Opportunity

The Licensed Social Worker provides professional social work services to individuals, families, and groups to support emotional well-being, enhance social functioning, and connect clients with necessary community resources. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, providing counseling, and advocating for clients while maintaining compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Clinical & Therapeutic Services

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessments.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals with clients.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, such as:
    • Individual, family, or group counseling
    • Crisis stabilization
    • Brief solution-focused interventions
    • Psychoeducation
  • Assess safety concerns and implement crisis or emergency management protocols.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with multidisciplinary teams, providers, and family support.
  • Document all clinical interactions in accordance with regulatory and organizational guidelines.
  • Case Management & Care Coordination
  • Link clients to appropriate community resources, including housing, financial assistance, medication management, mental health programs, and substance-use treatment.
  • Monitor progress, adjust service plans, and advocate for client needs.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments with internal and external service providers.
  • Assist clients in navigating healthcare, social services, and benefits systems.
  • Collaborate with medical providers, law enforcement, schools, and other partners when necessary.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and treatment reviews.
  • Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and case notes.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensure laws, HIPAA, and ethical standards.
  • Track outcomes, complete reports, and support quality-improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in training, supervision, and continuing education to maintain licensure and competencies.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW).
  • Active state licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, LICSW, or equivalent depending on state requirements).
  • Experience in behavioral health, clinical assessment, and crisis intervention.
  • Valid driver’s license (if position requires community outreach).
Preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in social work or case management.
  • Experience working in healthcare, community mental health, hospital, or crisis settings.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and social service systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency.

Working Conditions
  • Exams may take place at local offices, mobile clinics, armories, or other designated military facilities.
  • Regular interaction with patients of all ages.
  • May involve standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of equipment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods and lift up to 20–30 lbs (depending on setting).
