Job summary

Backpack Healthcare is seeking a part-time Michigan Licensed Mental Health Therapist to provide telehealth therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults across the state, with sessions in the 2:00–9:00 PM EST window. You will join a clinician-led, remote team focused on accessible care and collaboration.

You will conduct assessments, create trauma-informed treatment plans, and document outcomes in a secure EHR while enjoying flexible scheduling and support from a referral network.

Qualifications

• Telehealth experience delivering individual and family therapy.
• Trauma-informed, culturally responsive care essential.
• Strong documentation and clinical judgment required.
• Active Michigan independent license (LPC/LMSW/LMFT) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 15-22 telehealth sessions per week delivering individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults in Michigan.
• Schedule flexibility with most sessions 2:00-9:00 PM EST; weekends optional.
• Develop and implement trauma-informed treatment plans and conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team and coordinate care via secure telehealth.
• Document thoroughly in the electronic health record; ensure timely, accurate notes.

What You'll Do

You’ll provide 15-22 telehealth sessions per week, delivering individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults throughout Michigan.

Most clinicians see clients during weekday afternoons and evenings (2:00-9:00 PM EST), with weekend availability welcomed.

You create your schedule—we provide the referrals, administrative support, billing, and credentialing.

Your day-to-day includes:

• Conducting comprehensive behavioral health assessments
• Developing individualized, trauma-informed treatment plans
• Providing evidence-based individual and family therapy via secure telehealth
• Collaborating with our interdisciplinary care team, including therapists, PMHNPs, psychiatrists, and care coordinators
• Completing timely, accurate clinical documentation within our electronic health record (EHR)
• Supporting families through education, collaboration, and coordinated care

Competitive Compensation + Monthly Bonus Potential

What You'll Earn

• $60 per billable hour for independently licensed clinicians

What We’re Looking For

• An active Michigan independent license (LPC, LMSW, or LMFT)
• Experience working with children, adolescents, and families—or a passion for serving this population
• The ability to work independently in a virtual environment
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
• A commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care

Bilingual (English/Spanish) clinicians are strongly encouraged to apply.
