Job summary

Atlantic Health's Morristown Medical Center inpatient Rehab Unit is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join a collaborative team dedicated to patient-centered care, professional respect, and continuous learning.

You will administer PT care, assist with treatments, monitor progress, and partner with physical therapists and Aides to optimize mobility, safety, and independence for our patients.

Qualifications

• Licensed PTA required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with active and passive manual therapies and modality treatments such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, UV, infrared, and hot/cold packs.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients to learn and improve functional activities (perambulation, transfer, ambulation, activities of daily living).
• Observe patients during treatments, monitor progress, and communicate results to the Physical Therapist.
• Fit and train patients in use and care of braces, prostheses, and assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs).
• Confers with PT staff and health team to plan, modify, and coordinate treatment programs.
• Facilitates orientation to new PTAs and directs PT Aides.
• Performs clerical duties such as inventory, ordering supplies, answering phones, and filing forms.
• May measure range of motion, length and girth, and vitals to assess treatment effects or aid evaluations.
• May monitor treatments by Physical Therapy Aides.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
