Job summary

St. Bernards Healthcare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to assist Physical Therapists in delivering physical therapy treatments and procedures.

The role may involve developing treatment plans, performing routine tasks, documenting progress, and adjusting treatments under supervision of a licensed PT. The PTA will work under supervision in accordance with state laws and Board rules, ensuring compliance with the Board and maintaining patient care standards.

Qualifications

• Must have satisfied education requirements from an accredited program and be currently licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Arkansas by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy (the Board). CPR certified.
• Sound clinical skills and demonstrated good judgment. Working knowledge of physical, mental and social needs of the frail elderly population. Ability to problem-solve and plan effectively. Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• The Physical Therapist Assistant will assist Physical Therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. May, in accordance with state laws, assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment, and modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist. The PTA will have frequent and regular supervision by or in consultation with a physical therapist whose license is in good standing.
