Job summary

Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions in the United States seeks a Licensed Psychiatric Technician to deliver essential mental health support under licensed nursing supervision in correctional or behavioral health settings.

You will perform direct patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with hygiene and daily living tasks, respond to behavioral emergencies, and help ensure infection control under established nursing protocols.

Qualifications

  • Current unrestricted Psychiatric Technician license in state of practice.
  • Lifesaving BLS certification through AHA.
  • Lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA.
  • High school diploma and specialized training for licensing/certification(s).
  • One year of experience; within a correctional/detention facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and monitor patients with mental health or developmental needs.
  • Support hygiene, feeding, and daily living tasks while tracking patient progress.
  • Respond to behavioral emergencies using trained techniques and first aid.
  • Perform nursing-delegated tasks such as vital signs and specimen collection.
  • Ensure safety and infection control through regular rounds and standard precautions.

  • Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
