Misericordia Heart of Mercy in Chicago, IL is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join our team and provide compassionate care to residents with developmental disabilities.

You will perform nursing duties, dispense medications, conduct assessments, and collaborate with physicians and administrators to ensure safe, person-centered care. We offer training, ongoing professional development, and opportunities for growth within a supportive ID/DD focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma/ Official Transcripts
• Current Illinois LPN license
• Good standing with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
• Current BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing coverage (on a 24/7 basis) for facility on assigned shift.
• Dispense physician-ordered medications; perform assessments; respond to emergency situations.
• Communicate concerns with medical provider/Director of Nursing/Administration.
• Work with the medical team to ensure high-quality care for residents.

What You Will Do

• Provide nursing coverage (on a 24/7 basis) for facility on assigned shift.
• You will be responsible for dispensing physician ordered medication; performing assessments; responding to emergency situations.
• Responsible for communicating concerns with medical provider/Director of Nursing/Administration.
• You will work as part of our incredible medical team to ensure the best medical care possible.

Training and Support

New to intellectual and developmental disability nursing? That's okay. Misericordia provides ongoing training and professional development in ID/DD care and person-centered practices.

Previous experience in ID/DD nursing is not required.

Qualifications For LPN

Schedule

Full-Time: 40 hours per week

Part-Time: 32 hours per week

Residential Settings

• Day: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM
• PM: 3:00 PM-11:00 PM
• Overnight: 11:00 PM-7:00 AM

Skilled Nursing Residence

• Day: 6:00 AM-2:00 PM
• PM: 2:00 PM-10:00 PM
• Overnight: 10:00 PM-6:00 AM

Pay

New Graduate Starting Rates

• LPN: $28.50/hour

Hourly Pay Range: $28.50 – $36.00/hour

The hourly rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise, years of experience, and other factors.

Shift Differentials

• AM weekend: +$3/hour
• PM/Overnight Monday-Friday: +$3/hour
• PM/Overnight weekends: +$4/hour
