Job Summary

Responsible for counseling individuals and groups to promote optimal mental health and well-being. Assesses and addresses issues related to self-harm, addictions, substance abuse, family and marital challenges, parenting concerns, and stress management. Supports clients in managing self-esteem, aging, and mental and emotional health issues. Develops and implements personalized treatment plans to facilitate positive behavioral and emotional outcomes. Collaborates with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support.

Essential Functions
  • Counsels clients individually and in groups to support recovery and adjustment.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client treatment records.
  • Guides clients in developing coping skills and problem-solving strategies.
  • Encourages clients to express feelings and gain personal insight.
  • Collects client information through interviews, observations, and assessments.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate treatment records and reports.
  • Evaluates clients’ physical and mental condition based on collected information.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans.
  • Acts as a client advocate to coordinate services and resolve crises.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in counseling is preferred
Experience Requirement
  • 2-3 years of experience in counseling, or a relevant area
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part‑time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
