Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services, Warren State Hospital, is seeking reliable Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide compassionate care to individuals with serious mental illness. You will support daily clinical and therapeutic needs, administer medications, document progress, and respond to emergencies as part of a dedicated care team.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the daily clinical and therapeutic needs of patients by carrying out essential nursing tasks. It plays a key role in maintaining safe care, clear communication, and steady support throughout the treatment process.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment; 80 hours biweekly.
• Work hours are: 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) with 30-minute lunch.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Necessary Special Requirements

• This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
