Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Dunn is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care under supervision in the Dunn clinic. This role supports physicians and clinic staff, participates in clinical functions, and ensures high-quality patient flow.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, collaboration on the care plan, medication administration, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current licensure in North Carolina as an LPN or compact state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessment of patient.
• Collaborates with departmental and interdisciplinary groups in developing the patient plan of care.
• Follows patient’s plan of care while participating in the direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Adjusts care based upon age-specific physiological needs of patients as directed by the Registered Nurse or other authorized person(s).
• Maintains an accurate and relevant record of patient care.
• Administers medication as ordered by physician.
• Facilitates a safe environment.
• Recognizes life-threatening situations and responds appropriately.
• Maintains required competencies.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities and monitors the quality of care.
• Establishes collaborative interpersonal relationships with other Health System staff.
• Supports patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of the medical regimen.
• Actively participates in cost containment and completes accurate charging for patient services.
• Actively demonstrates responsibility concerning customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP), if applicable.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

Education and Formal Training :

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Current licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Compact state licensure

Physical Requirements :

• Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs

• May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds
