Responsibilities

• Assist registered nurses and/or physicians with exams and procedures
• Take and record vital signs – temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure
• Administer medications and injections according to orders
• Maintain patient records
• Perform routine tests and procedures, including dipstick urinalysis, hematocrits, EKGs, tympanometry, audiometry, inhalation therapy, pregnancy tests, and blood glucose
• Maintain inventories of clinical supplies and medications
• Ensure that patient examination rooms are ready for use and stocked with supplies and equipment
• Complete callback calls to parents/guardians by phone
• Call prescriptions to pharmacies
• Prepare lab, X‑ray request and referral forms
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance; work schedule as defined and overtime as required
• Perform related duties as required

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the State of Alabama. Licensure with the State of Alabama as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
