Job Summary

Under the direction of the practitioner, maintains examination rooms, interacts with patients, obtains clinical history, and performs tests as directed by the practitioner.Assures completeness of ordered procedures and treatments, assures smooth patient flow, administers injections, instructs patients concerning procedures, treatments and needs, and ensures medical orders and referrals are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. This position also aids in providing efficient and effective phlebotomy services. Confirms the accuracy of demographic information, accurately interprets physician orders, and reliably collects and labels various specimens from patients.

Service location may vary depending on the individual's needs and may be performed in a clinic, the community, or the individual's home.

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Valid Indiana Licensed Practical Nursing license.
• Graduate of licensed practical nursing program with certification.
• BLS certification or must obtain duirng Orientation and prior to reporting to department.
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• Dependable transportation with ability to travel between healthcare facilities, community locations, and patient homes as required by the position.

Preferred Job Requirements

• One year LPN experience preferred

• Developed computer skills and the ability to learn and proficiently perform patient care applications, echarting, email and other standards applications related to the department operations and job function.

• Basic working understanding of the concepts of infection control principles to prevent the spread of infection to patients, self and others.
