Licensed Practical Nurse position in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services unit at Alvin C. York VAMC in Murfreesboro, TN.

The role supports the Pelvic Physical Therapist, assists with data collection for outpatients and new admissions, and helps maintain patient privacy and safety. The posted pay range is $69,737 to $90,660 per year with competitive benefits, annual leave, and federal holidays.

Qualifications

This position requires a valid LPN license in good standing.
Experience in rehabilitation or related care settings is preferred.
Strong documentation and patient communication skills are required.

Responsabilités

Assist the Pelvic Physical Therapist with internal exams.
Collect data for outpatients and new admissions.
Maintain patient privacy and document signs and symptoms.
Administer oxygen and apply supportive devices as directed.
Assist with lifting, moving, transferring, and transporting patients.
Document progress and report changes to the Physical Therapist.
Attend patient care conferences and contribute to care planning.
Provide patient education as appropriate under PMRS guidance.

Licensed Practical Nurse- Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Services (Murfreesboro)

Department: Department of Veterans Affairs

This position is located in the Physical, Medicine Rehabilitation Services unit at the Alvin C. York VAMC in Murfreesboro, TN.

Key Responsibilities

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Pelvic Physical Therapist with internal exams. Assists with data collection for outpatients and new admissions. Provides for the patient's privacy. Observes, reports, and documents signs and symptoms of patient's general condition. Attends patient care conferences. Provides input into the Nursing Care Plan and/or the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care. Assists in evaluating psychological and educational needs.

Administering oxygen as directed. Applying abdominal binders, anti-embolic stockings and ace bandage as directed. Providing for lifting, moving, transferring, and/or transporting patients. Using patient lifting devices, if applicable. Reports and documents of progress or changes in patient's behavior and/or physical condition to the Physical Therapist. Recognizes and initiates emergency measures consistent with training.

Assures the presence of a signed informed consent prior to procedures and diagnostic tests. Reports changes in patient's behavior and or physical condition to the Physical Therapist. Uses identified learning needs to provide patient teaching and documents teaching in the medical record. Teaching may include PMRS education. Obtains and records VSs (temperature, B/P, Pulse Oximetry, I&O, heights and weights). All other duties as assigned.

When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.

Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
