Job summary

A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse for a Primary Care Clinic in Reston, VA. This part-time role is 20 hours weekly, 2–3 days, with every other weekend; a full-time option may be discussed with the manager.

Responsibilities include administering vaccines and medications, checking vital signs, conducting patient assessments, and documenting in the EHR. You will provide patient education, assist with access to services, and support a smooth patient flow with the care team.

Qualifications

• Licensed LPN with primary care/urgent care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and document treatment responses.
• Provide on-site emergency care in collaboration with the provider.
• Conduct medication reviews to identify side effects and interactions.
• Provide patient education on medications, self-care and disease management.
• Coordinate patient access to healthcare services and community resources.
• Assist with patient flow, registration, scheduling, and reminders.
• Serve as a chaperone during sensitive examinations and maintain privacy.

Hours Part Time - 20 hours per week 2 or 3 days per week + every other weekend If applicant prefers full time, may be possibility as well if discussed and agreed upon with manager

Business Hours - Monday - Friday 8:30am-7:30pm, Saturday 9AM - 5:30PM, Sunday 9AM - 4:30PM

Assignments are expected to last six months; Opportunities for extension and conversion to permanent employment may be available, but not guaranteed

Compensation The pay for this position is $37.17 an hour

Responsibilities

• Administer vaccinations, injections, and oral, intravenous, injectable, and topical medications.
• Obtain, monitor, and accurately document vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature.
• Perform routine and complex patient assessments, monitor pain levels, identify abnormalities, and document treatment responses.
• Provide emergency care in collaboration with the on-site provider during emergent situations.
• Conduct medication reviews to identify potential side effects, contraindications, and drug interactions.
• Perform mental health screenings to assess depression, mood, behavior, and cognitive function.
• Accurately document patient medical histories, medications, allergies, surgeries, family history, and treatment information in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Provide patient education regarding medications, treatments, self-care, and disease management.
• Coordinate patient access to healthcare services and connect patients with appropriate community resources.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Perform patient registration, intake, checkout, appointment scheduling, and reminder/outreach calls.
• Assist with patient flow and waiting room management to promote an efficient and positive patient experience.
• Serve as a chaperone during sensitive examinations while maintaining patient privacy, comfort, and dignity.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, clinic areas, and waiting spaces in a clean, organized, welcoming, and well-stocked condition.
• Support the healthcare team with additional clinical and administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

• Licensed LPN Experienced in Primary Care, Urgent Care, Family or Internal Medicine, Outpatient Clinics, or Emergency Room is highly preferred INDKS
