Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse to join the Recovery Services team in a full-time role. The nurse will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, monitor health and withdrawal status, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support early recovery in adults.

A trauma-informed, compassionate approach is valued. The position requires valid RN or LPN licensure in the state, with preferred RN experience.

Qualifications

  • Valid licensure as RN or current licensure as LPN in the state of practice.
  • One year of experience preferred for RN.
  • Ability to read and interpret lab results and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients, families, and other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical and mental health, including withdrawal symptom monitoring.
  • Evaluate admission suitability using ASAM criteria for appropriate care level.
  • Support admission processes, health screenings, and nursing assessments.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely, including MAT when applicable.
  • Monitor vital signs and overall health, responding to changes promptly.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans.
