Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses the full patient experience: pre-procedure, intra-procedure, post-procedure, including work in the surgery suite.

  • Retrieve individual records promptly upon request
  • Monitor collection, processing, maintenance, storage, and access to patient and clinical records
  • Assist with pre-operative and post-operative visits as required
  • Support RN with opening and closing duties
  • Prepare instruments, equipment, and operating room
  • Chart and prepare surgery and progress notes
  • Support physician during procedures as necessary
  • Clean and sterilize operating room and instruments
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, and physician's instructions to patients and caregivers
  • Schedule follow-up appointments
  • Maintain appropriate medical supplies
Physical Demands
  • Use of communication devices like telephone and computer
  • Visual and auditory acuity
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds

Key Skills/Qualifications
  • Valid and current State LVN/LPN License
  • ACLS certification within 90 days of hire, maintained annually
  • Clinical judgment regarding wound assessment and signs of infection, bleeding, healing
  • Ability to interpret instructions in various formats
  • Proficiency in writing reports and correspondence
  • Problem-solving skills and logical reasoning
  • Familiarity with MS Office, including Excel
  • Basic math skills
Education

Graduate of an accredited LVN/LPN program with successful passing of the state licensing exam.

Experience
  • Less than 1 year as an LVN/LPN
  • Experience in a cosmetic surgery center is a plus
