Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking an LPN/LVN to join our oncology unit on the night shift. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, monitor symptoms, assist with IV therapy and blood draws, and collaborate with RNs and physicians to support cancer care and comfort.

The role requires an LPN/LVN license, BLS, and IV and BW certifications within 90 days. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
• IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside and direct/indirect patient care in oncology/hematology.
• Monitor vital signs, symptoms and treatment side effects.
• Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws.
• Support chemotherapy/infusion processes within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and oncology care teams.
• Ensure patient safety, infection control and protective precautions.
• Document care in EMR/EHR systems.
• Communicate changes in patient condition promptly.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families.

LPN / LVN - Oncology

Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME

Full-time | Nights | 7p-7a | 12-Hour Shifts

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a specialized Oncology unit. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), this role supports cancer patient care, symptom management, and treatment support, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality outcomes while enhancing the patient experience.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.High School Diploma or equivalent required.

2.Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.

3.IV certificationandBlood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.

4.Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

5.Work experience in health care preferred.

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $27.00 to $30.75. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
