Job summary

ERC Pathlight is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care under supervision across our mental health programs. You may float to different locations within the region and will participate in creating a therapeutic milieu with the treatment team.

The role requires an active LPN license, BLS, and ability to maintain confidentiality. On-call shifts may be required depending on business needs. Compensation ranges from $29.50 to $36 USD per hour.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in the state where job is held.
• BLS certification required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to keep patient information confidential.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide and assist in direct patient care under supervision of RN, APP, or provider.
• Manage patient assignment within shift.
• Record vital signs and responses to treatment and nursing care.
• Report abnormal changes to RN or provider promptly.
• Receive and document provider orders using approved abbreviations.
• Label and process patient specimens.
• Administer medications, injections, NG tube feeds, and wound care as regulated.
• Assist with patient examinations and treatments as directed.
• Contribute to safe, quality care and therapeutic milieu.
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate patient transportation and transitions.

What you’ll be doing:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide andassistin direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse,APPor physician. The LPN will provide medical management of patients andassistwith environmental safety and crisis management for the patient populationin accordance withthe legal scope of practice and within established standards of care,policiesand procedures. The LPN willdemonstrateperformance consistent with the Mission,Visionand Strategic Plan of the organization,demonstratequality and effectiveness in work habits and clinicalpracticeand treat coworkers, patients,familiesand all members of the health care team with dignity and respect. The LPN will partner with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu.

The LPN will crosstrainacross ERC and Pathlight and may berequiredto float or be assigned to other locations/facilities within the Region. The LPN maybe requiredto work on-call shifts based on business needs,in accordance withapplicable federal, state, and local labor laws.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Performs all nursing care within scope of practice to assigned patients under the supervision of an RN, APP, or provider
• Manages patient assignment within assigned shift
• Performs and documents vital signs, responses to treatment, education and nursing care andassistswith other basic medical care tasks assigned
• Reports abnormal changes in patients or patients’ health and mental status to RN or providerin a timely manner
• Receives, places and documents provider orders/communication intimelymanner using approved abbreviations
• Effectively labels,collectsand processes patient specimens
• Administers medications, injections, places andmaintainsnasogastric tube feeds, and provides wound care according to facility and state regulations
• Mayassistlicensed provider with patient examinations and treatments by positioning, restraining patients, andassistingas directed
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment thatoptimizespatient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
• Ensures that care reflects goals of patient outcome activities
• Contributes to individualized treatment plans in conjunction with the ERC multidisciplinary team
• Participates in daily controlled substance count
• Aidesin transition/transfer of patients to and from other units or facilities
• Collaborateswith staff toassistwith transportation arrangements for patient appointments outside of ERC
• Responds to emergency situations until emergency response team (911) arrives onscene

Musthaves:

• High school diploma or GED (Required)
• Active LPN license in the state job is held (Required)
• BLS certification (Required)
• Ability to keep patient information confidential (Required)
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations (Required)

Bonusqualities:

• 1+ years of experience working with in the mental health field, IV skills/certification, knowledge/experience with nasogastric tubes (Preferred)
