Job summary

Novant Health in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Med/Surg team. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to adults with medical and surgical conditions during a 7 p.m.–7 a.m.

shift in a full-time role, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based care. You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop care plans, administer medications and treatments, educate patients and families, and coordinate discharge

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
• One year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
• Active state LPN license required.
• CPI certification within 3 months of hire for Behavioral Health units (facility-specific).
• Computer skills, ability to follow policies and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to adult patients with medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop individualized plans of care, and monitor patient progress.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions while assessing and responding to changes in patient condition.
• Prioritize care and manage multiple patient needs in a fast-paced acute care environment.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and support positive patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge plans.
• Promote a safe environment while following evidence-based practices, hospital policies, and patient safety standards.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of accredited Practical Nursing Program, required.
• Experience:One year of relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:Appropriate state LPN license, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. CPI certification within 3 months of hire for Behavioral Health departments, required.
• Additional Skills Required:Computer skills, Phone call etiquette, Organizational Skills. Ability to comprehend policies and procedures and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
