Job summary

PAM Health Specialty and Rehabilitation Hospital of Covington is seeking an LVN/LPN to provide skilled nursing care under an RN on the unit in Covington, LA. You will gather data, follow orders, and perform therapeutic procedures for an inpatient population.

Responsibilities include delivering age-appropriate care, adhering to policies, and performing related duties as needed. Current RN/LPN licensure in Louisiana and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold current LVN/LPN licensure in the state where PAM Health resides.
• Current BLS certification required.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Preferred: experience in emergency or critical care environments; vents/trachs/PICC lines; two years of direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care as directed by an RN on the unit.
• Gather and report patient data, carry out orders, and perform therapeutic procedures.
• Deliver care in an age- and population-appropriate manner per PAM Health policies.
• Complete other related duties as assigned or requested.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) is responsible for providing appropriate nursing care, as directed by an RN on the nursing unit. Functions include gathering and reporting data, carrying out orders, and performing therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population-appropriate manner, consistent with the policies, procedures, and guidelines of PAM Health. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

• Education and Training: Holds current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state where the hospital resides. Current BLS certification required.
• Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
• A few things that aren't required, but we would prefer:
  • Having prior experience in emergency or critical care environments
  • A higher comfort level working with vents/trachs/PICC lines, etc.
  • Having 2 years of experience in direct patient care
