Inova Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Inova Fairfax Pediatric ED in Falls Church, VA. This full-time evening role runs from 3pm to 3am, joining our dedicated pediatric team dedicated to safe, high-quality care.

The ideal candidate holds a Virginia LPN license, a vocational/technical diploma in practical nursing, and BLS certification. 0 years of experience is noted, with preferred 1 year in LPN or medical assisting settings.

Qualifications

• Education: Vocational / TechnicalDiploma in Practical Nursing
• License: Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia

• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.
• 1 year of experience as an LPN or Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician; Collaborates with the Registered Professional Nurse on the execution of patient plans.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to advocate for the clinical, emotional, ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients; Monitors and reports patients' progress towards expected outcomes and deviations to registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.
• Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation; Reports changes in patient condition to the registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician and appropriate healthcare team members in a timely manner.
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to clinical technicians or emergency medical technicians.
• Evaluates and maintains the patient care environment to promote safety; Administers prescribed medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards; Assists with patient education and discharge planning under the direction of the registered professional nurse, an advanced practice provider, or licensed physician.
