Job summary

101 Riverside Hospital, Inc. in Smithfield, Virginia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our care team. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Nursing Manager and contribute to planning, implementing and evaluating resident care.

You will administer medications and treatments, support resident dignity and privacy, and help supervise CNAs and other staff to ensure high-quality care. A Virginia LPN license and CPR/BLS within 30 days are required.

Smithfield, Virginia Hiring Range $28.90 - $39.78/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.

Overview

Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor, and ultimately responsible to the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Quality Care Management. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) monitors the resident, participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Provides for the emotional, physical comfort and safety of the residents and their families. Assists in supervision of auxiliary personnel.

• Allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety /dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity.
• Assigns duties to non-professional staff such as CNAs according to education, training, policy and resident need in order to assure quality resident care is delivered.
• Engages team members for optimal performance and addresses performance as needed.
• Participates in administering medications, treatments, monitoring and observation of resident care.
• Identifies changes in condition with proper documentation according to standards of nursing practice.
• Demonstrates consistent follow through to promote positive resident outcomes.
• Utilizes good judgment and specialized skills.

Qualifications

• Experience Less than 1 year Nursing experience (Preferred)
• Licenses and Certifications
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
