Job summary

Arden Courts of Kensington is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the day shift to administer medications, perform treatments, and maintain accurate resident records. This part-time role requires up-to-date LPN licensure and adherence to facility policies and guidelines.

Experience with gerontological nursing and dementia care is preferred. Excellent English communication and ability to stand and assist residents are essential.

Qualifications

• Current active LPN license in state of practice.
• Gerontological nursing experience with dementia population preferred.
• Basic reading and writing skills; ability to speak English clearly.

Day Shift Position

TheLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents and maintains related work records. The LPN also ensures resident’s needs are met in accordance with professional standards of practice through physician orders, facility policies and procedures, and federal, state and local guidelines . Requirements

Skills: Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English in an understandable manner
Years of Experience: Gerontological nursing including dementia population preferred
Licensure: Current active LPN license in state of practice

Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods; Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis; Full use of hands, arms, and legs (for writing and medication administration); Ability to read thermometers, charts and testing equipment
