The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care is seeking a committed Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the team at the Civil Commitment Unit for Sex Offenders (CCUSO) in Cherokee. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a structured, team-focused clinical environment.

Work Schedule - We Have The Following Shifts To Offer With a $0.90/hour Shift Differential For PM Shifts And a $1.00/hour Shift Differential For Overnight Shifts

• PM: Work 4 shifts 1:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. every two weeks


• Overnight: Work 4 shifts 9:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m. every two weeks

OR

• PM: Work 5 shifts 2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. every two weeks


• Overnight: Work 5 shifts 10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. every two weeks


• You'll work a rotating schedule that includes working every third weekend. While the schedule is generally consistent, teamwork sometimes calls for flexibility beyond standard hours.

What You’ll Do

• Delivering acute and chronic nursing care

• Escorting patients as needed


• Accurately documenting patient behaviors, attitudes, and care activities

CCUSO provides a secure, long-term, and highly structured setting to treat sexual offenders who have served their prison terms, but, in a separate civil trial, have been found likely to reoffend. The facility provides state-of-the-art treatment to patients to lower their risk of re-offending and to release them from confinement as quickly as possible. There is a full range of diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitative services focused on addressing the conditions impacting a patient’s likelihood of re-offending. Minimum Qualification Requirements
