Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a part-time, PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support ambulatory behavioral health service lines. The role requires completing an accredited Practical Nursing program and holding an active LPN license in the state.

BLS must be obtained within 45 days unless exempt by leadership. Responsibilities include patient triage, vital signs, basic labs, injections, immunizations, IV therapy, and coordination of follow-up care.

Qualifications

• LPN license issued by the state where the team member practices.

Pay Range:

$24.10 - $36.15

Job Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing


• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices


• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providerscertification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required

Key Responsibilities:

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and update medical information.


• Collect specimens and perform basic laboratory testing using infection control standards.


• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and minor surgeries.


• Administer medications, immunizations, injections, and IV therapy as permitted.


• Educate patients and coordinate follow-up care, referrals, appointments, and prescription refills.


• Document patient information and communicate effectively with providers and care team members.


• Perform advanced clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, spirometry, wound care, catheterization, and suture/staple removal, as trained and supervised.


• Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.


• Perform equipment maintenance, sterilization, and quality checks.


• Support quality improvement, patient-centered care, and care management initiatives.


• Deliver age-appropriate care while assessing and addressing the unique needs of patients across the lifespan.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff and physicians.


• Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.


• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
