Job summary

New Hampshire Detox is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join our detoxification unit in New Hampshire. You will work with physicians and a treatment team to deliver high-quality nursing care during the detox process.

Ideal candidates have an LPN license, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in detox or behavioral health. EHR experience and familiarity with ASAM/JCHS standards are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Current LPN license in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience preferred; detox, behavioral health, or substance use disorder experience strongly preferred.
  • Psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience administering oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications.
  • EHR experience.
  • Familiarity with ASAM Criteria and Joint Commission Behavioral Health Standards preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond effectively during medical emergencies.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments upon admission and throughout treatment.
  • Monitor patients for withdrawal symptoms and changes in medical condition.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by the medical team.
  • Document all patient care accurately in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient care and clinical reporting.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
  • Educate patients regarding medications, detoxification, and recovery.
  • Reconcile and securely manage medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate controlled substance documentation.
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols.
  • Communicate patient status effectively during shift handoff.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide exceptional patient care.

Position Summary

As an LPN, you will provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients throughout the detoxification process.
