Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Exceptional Care and Leadership Opportunity
Position Summary:

As a Charge Nurse (LPN), you play a pivotal role in the direct oversight of your assigned unit, ensuring the highest quality of care. Your responsibilities include administering treatments, medications, and leading a team of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) in their tasks, all while fostering a professional environment for staff and residents.

Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or completion of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program with a current LPN licensure in the state of practice.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership abilities and a willingness to work with and supervise both professional and nonprofessional personnel.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical:
  • Maintain meticulous record-keeping, including required LPN forms and charts upon a resident's admission, discharge, transfer, and other significant events. Ensure these records are appropriately filed in the resident's chart or forwarded to the relevant department.
  • Accurately prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the physician.
  • Facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents, including coordinating transportation and packing, as necessary.
  • Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, wound care, application and changing of dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, and care of the deceased or dying, adhering to the facility's policies and procedures.
Supervision:
  • Collaborate with the facility's consultants as needed and implement recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses.
  • Investigate and address complaints and grievances, submitting necessary oral and written reports to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses.
  • Exchange nursing reports upon commencing and concluding shift duty hours.
  • Conduct daily checks on all residents to ensure that prescribed treatments are administered correctly by nursing personnel/assistants and to assess their physical and emotional status.
  • Keep the RN Supervisor informed about the status of residents, staff, and related matters.
