Job summary

Living Independently Forever, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Job Coach to empower individuals to develop workplace skills and independence in Cape Cod and Plymouth areas. You will provide hands-on coaching, reinforce workplace routines, and support participants at employment sites.

• Transport residents to and from employment and volunteer sites as needed (mileage reimbursement provided).
• Provide hands-on job coaching and support at employment and volunteer sites.
• Teach and reinforce workplace skills, routines, and professional behaviors.
• Advocate for individuals while promoting independence and self-confidence.

• Perform additional duties, or substitute for others as required. Additional duties may include but are not limited to, clearing snow and ice from walkways, vehicles, parking lots, and roads using equipment like shovels, snow blowers while applying deicing agents to ensure safety

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop positive relationships with LIFE residents, families, and staff
• Daily documentation of activities/goals performed
• Effectively manage LIFE email account
• Complete required training as assigned
• Intervene verbally with individuals during behavioral incidents
• Transport residents to and from employment and Volunteer sites as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)
• Other duties as determined by Supervisor or Director

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities or vulnerable population preferred.
• Background in retail, hospitality, restaurant, or training environments
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college or technical coursework preferred
• Demonstrated patience, kindness, and composure

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Ability to be present and active in varied work environments, including outdoor settings
• Stamina to provide hands-on coaching and instruction throughout the day

Additional Requirements:

• Able to pass all required LIFE pre-employment screening requirements:
• Acceptable reference checks from previous employers
• Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)
• Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC)
• Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Fingerprint-Based Criminal Background Check
• Motor Vehicle Driving History – acceptable to LIFE’s insurance carrier

Able and willing to complete all in person and on-line trainings assigned by LIFE

What You’ll Do

As a Job Coach, you will:

• Provide individualized job coaching and support at employment and volunteer sites.
• Teach and reinforce workplace skills, routines, and professional behaviors.
• Assist individuals with learning job responsibilities and achieving employment goals.
• Build positive relationships with individuals, employers, coworkers, and community partners.
• Advocate for individuals while promoting independence and self-confidence.
• Conduct routine employment site visits and weekly follow-up checks.
• Address workplace concerns and help resolve issues in a positive and supportive manner.
• Develop creative support strategies and tools to help individuals succeed on the job.
• Transport individuals to and from employment sites as needed using your personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
• Complete daily documentation and maintain accurate, quality case notes in I-Centrix.
• Effectively manage and respond to LIFE email communications.
• Participate in Employment Services team meetings and required trainings.
• Provide verbal intervention and support during behavioral situations when necessary.
• Maintain participant work schedules and employment records as assigned.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or directors.
