Job summary

The Cardiology LPN assists providers with diagnostic studies and all clinical patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. This role also supports day-to-day clinical operations of the office.

Requires Georgia LPN licensure or multistate license and CPR certification within 30 days. One year of nursing experience and basic computer skills are expected to ensure quality patient care and safety.

Development -Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties Participates in continuing education Participates in the development of new programs (ex: Process Improvement, Quality Initiatives)
Patient Care - Demonstrates competency in patient care Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the clinic, and ancillary services Greet, assess and interview patients Review present medications, allergy history, chief complaint, and brief interrogation of complaint Update medication list and current problem list Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs Anticipate needs of patients, and the doctor under whom I work Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by medical staff Monitoring of patient during examination, or procedure Administers injections, performs phlebotomy and/or lab testing, etc. as directed by provider Obtains referrals and pre-certifications as necessary Acts as a liaison between provider and patient Explains medications, side effects, treatments, diets, diseases and disease processes . Supplies patients with medication samples as instructed by provider. Communicates with patients over the telephone, provides tests results, answers questions, responds to messages in a timely manner, and provides clear documentation of this communication in the patient's record. Monitors diagnostic tests therapy including but not limited to EKG's, ABI's, EECP, holter and event monitors and stress tests. Maintains strict confidentiality. is subject to general review only and requires considerable accuracy and responsibility. Continually works with medicines, lab equipment, and confidential information. Maintains patient confidentiality
Safety -Maintains working knowledge of medical equipment and removes faulty equipment from use as necessary. Participates in safety programs
Teamwork -Works well with others and functions as a team player Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area Stocking and ordering of supplies as needed Maintains patient care areas Participates in the training and skills development of new LPN's and/or medical assistants Assists in other areas of the office as necessary
