Job summary

Mercy Youngstown BH, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Behavioral Health Unit. This full-time position offers day shifts and a 36-hour week (12-hour shifts) within a hospital setting focused on compassionate patient care.

The role supports teamwork, patient well-being, and community health. LPN licensure and behavioral health experience are preferred; BCLS is required.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in the state or a current multistate compact license.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of one year of behavioral health experience preferred.
• BCLS or completion within one week of hire/transfer.
• Ability to think critically, make decisive judgments, and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong English communication skills, written and spoken.

Qualifications And Requirements

Applicants should have a current state LPN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate from an accredited nursing school.

• Minimum work experience: one year experience in behavioral health preferred
• BCLS or within one week of hire/transfer
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
