Job summary

Majestic Care Newburgh is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide skilled nursing care on an assigned unit, supervising CNAs and supporting medical care under nursing management. You will lead care planning, assess residents, and follow physicians’ orders while maintaining regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include medication administration, IV starts, treatments, and participating in orientation and ongoing training. A valid LPN license in Indiana is required; CPR cert is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as an LPN in the state employed; license must be active and in good standing.
• CPR teaching certificate preferred but not required.

• Initiate and lead team conferences for individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document residents’ conditions and nursing needs.
• Implement physicians’ orders accurately and promptly.

Position Overview

Majestic Care LPNs render skilled technical nursing services to residents within an assigned unit/wing in support of medical care as directed by the nursing management team; supervises CNAs to ensure a high quality of care is provided to all residents in that unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.
• Assess and document the residents’ condition and nursing needs.
• Accurately and promptly implement physicians’ orders.
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments for assigned residents and document that treatment as required by Majestic Care and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.
• Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents.
