Job summary

Villa Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide licensed nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting. You will perform assessments, administer medications, document care, and collaborate with the IDT to ensure high-quality resident outcomes.

The role requires current LPN licensure in the state and CPR certification, with preference for 1 year of experience and long-term care exposure. Full-time hours with a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Long-Term care experience preferred.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
  • Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
  • Ensures assigned work area (nurse station, medication cart, medication room) is maintained clean and sanitary.
  • Directs and supervises certified nursing assistant services for assigned unit to ensure care is rendered per standards.
  • Provides required resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans.
  • Takes and records residents blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, IV therapy per license and provides respiratory care.
  • Receives and transcribes physician’s orders to charts/MAR, treatment/care plans.
  • Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by physician.
  • Charts nurse’s notes reflecting care provided and resident response.
  • Completes forms upon admission, transfer, discharge.
  • Ensures environment is free from accidents; address safety risks.
  • Writes and communicates shift reports and recommendations.
  • Ensures care plans are implemented and maintained; may recommend changes to IDT.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Regency, A Villa Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team! The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of residents for a shift of duty.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations
  • Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
  • Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, medication cart, medication room, etc.), resident care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Directs and supervises the day-to-day certified nursing assistant services for assigned unit to assure that care is being rendered in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
  • Provides required resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans to ensure appropriate care.
  • Takes and records residents blood pressure and vital signs, administers catheter care, administers IV therapy to residents as ordered within license limitations, and provides respiratory care, e.g. oxygen, nebulizer treatments.
  • Receives and transcribes physician’s orders to resident’s charts, Kardex/Care Medication Administration Record ("MAR"), treatment/care plans, as required.
  • Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by the physician.
  • Charts nurse’s notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided as well as the resident’s response to the care.
  • Completes the required forms upon admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Ensures the resident’s environment is as free from accidents and hazards. Immediately corrects/addresses potential safety risks as prudent and warranted.
  • Makes written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of shift as required.
  • Ensures that all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained. Make recommendations for care plan changes to the IDT per professional standards.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Education and Experience:
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Long-Term care experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
