Job summary

Intensive Specialty Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our LTAC team in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA. This full-time role offers a $7500 sign-on bonus for FT employees working 12-hour shifts, along with comprehensive benefits and a supportive team.

You will provide holistic patient care, document thoroughly, and collaborate with physicians and staff in a dynamic LTAC environment. Flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional growth are available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical/vocational nursing.
• Must hold a current state or compact state license.
• Mental health experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Good time management and self-directed.
• Demonstrates good judgment, interpersonal and delegation skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe delivery of patient care through data gathering, planning, and evaluation.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria for patients of all ages.
• Maintain and coordinate communication with patients, staff, and physicians to ensure a quality patient experience.
• Maintain patient files, records, and other information in a professional manner following policies and procedures.
• Adapts to rapid change in a positive manner throughout the day as needs of the unit/department change.

Intensive Specialty Hospital is a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital. We provide cardiopulmonary care, ventilator and respiratory care, complex wound care, rehabilitation therapies, addiction medicine program, geriatric psychiatry program, multidisciplinary pain program, and outpatient counseling program. With two locations, Shreveport Campus and Bossier City Campus, we are the largest provider of LTAC services in Northwest Louisiana.

The Licensed practical nurse (LPN)/LVN functions as a health care team member. The Licensed practical nurse (LPN)/LVN contributes to the assessment of the health status of individuals and groups, participates in the development and modification of the plans of care, implements care strategies within the Licensed practical nurse (LPN)/LVN scope of practice, renders safe care, participates in the evaluation of responses to care interventions, delegates activities within the Licensed practical nurse (LPN)/LVN scope of practice, and performs additional functions for which the Licensed practical nurse (LPN)/LVN has been trained within the professional scope of practice.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical/vocational nursing
• Must hold a current state or compact state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the State Board of Nursing
