Job summary

Westminster St. Augustine is hiring a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Health Center, 3pm–11pm. The LPN will provide direct nursing care, supervise nursing assistants, and ensure compliance with physician orders, medication passes, and ECS documentation.

The role requires Florida LPN licensure and CPR certification, with preferred LTC experience. The position includes opportunities like EAP, scholarship programs, and health vaccinations, within a supportive Westminster Family

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in Florida as an LPN and CPR certified.
• One year of long-term care experience desirable; med-surg and home health helpful; experience with handicapped or developmentally disabled adults preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs as the Charge Nurse; ensure CNAs follow physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders; evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders.
• Enter physician orders into ECS and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Ensure residents receive medications per orders and perform medication passes.
• Maintain the medication cart and conduct audits for PRN and controlled medicines.
• Perform skin evaluations and monitor vital signs; assist with ADLs.

Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Care Retirement Community, is currently accepting applications for the position of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) part-time, 3pm - 11pm in our Health Center. As a part of the Nursing Team, this individual will provide direct nursing care to residents as well as supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and staff nurses in accordance with state and federal standards. As part of the Westminster Family, this position is vital in supporting our Nursing Team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The LPN must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities including:

• Supervise CNA's as the Charge Nurse; ensure that CNA's are following physician orders.
• Implement resident care based on physician orders. Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders (PRN). Complete admission documentation in ECS.
• Assist with the evaluation of residents for medical needs/changes. Assist with planning resident care based on physician orders. Enter physician orders into ECS.
• Ensure that residents are receiving their medication based on doctor's orders/complete medication pass.
• Maintain the medication cart including audit procedures for PRN medication and controlled medicines as defined by the nursing standards.
• Perform skin evaluations and skin treatment as required by skin treatment protocols. Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure.
• Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse. Must be CPR Certified.

Experience and Basic Knowledge: One year of long-term care is desirable. Med-surg, Home Health experience helpful. In addition, experience working with the handicapped or developmentally disabled adults preferred.
