Responsibilities

Overview

LPN / LVN – Coronary Care Unit (CCU)

Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME

Full-time | Nights | 7p–7a | 12-Hour Shifts

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a high-acuity Coronary Care Unit (CCU). Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), this role supports cardiac patient care, safety, and clinical outcomes while enhancing the patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside patient care and monitor vital signs and cardiac status
• Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws
• Collaborate with RNs and care teams on treatment plans
• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and protocol compliance
• Document care in EMR/EHR systems
• Report changes in patient condition promptly

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
• IV certification and Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Work experience in health care preferred.

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $27.00 to $30.75. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
