Job summary

Ecumen Lakeshore-The Fountains in Duluth, MN is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for overnight shifts with every-other-weekend rotation. The role provides nursing care, medication administration, and patient observation under the direction of the Director of Nursing.

You will mentor Nursing Assistants and other clinical staff on your unit. Qualified candidates hold an LPN license in Minnesota, demonstrate strong communication, and coordinate care across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree from an accredited school of nursing for the LPN program
• Current LPN licensure in the state of work (Minnesota)
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to follow safety rules and facility policies, including HIPAA and safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of an LPN
• Coordinate and direct patient care from admission to discharge
• Assist RN with assessments, documentation, and data collection
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered; monitor patient status
• Maintain patient and staff safety and infection control standards

Part Time Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN l Overnight shift l With an every other weekend rotation l PRN/Casual Opportunities Available as well

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing nursing care to patients, including medications and treatment administration, documentation, and other therapeutic interventions under the direction of the Director of Nursing/Clinical Director. This position is responsible for providing direction to Nursing Assistants, Resident Assistants, Trained Medication Assistants, and other clinical staff on unit/shift.

Ecumen Lakeshore-The Fountains provides short-term rehab and post-hospital care for up to 60 patients in spacious, private rooms along the picturesque shore of Lake Superior. Nurses in the Fountains acquire a comprehensive skill set to include IV insertion and medication administration, lab draws, code response, complex wound care, advanced respiratory care and restorative nursing care in collaboration with the therapy team to support each patient's journey to health.

The targeted pay range for this job is $29.85- $32.83 per hour.

• Additional $2/hour Shift differential for the overnight shift

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Provides nursing care to patients within the scope of practice of a Licensed Practical Nurse.


2. Responsible for coordination and direction of patient care. Coordinates care and services with other departments/providers from the time of admission to discharge.


3. Assists Registered Nurse with completion of assessments, documentation, and data collection within scope of practice and acting timely on findings.


4. Administers medications and completes treatments as ordered. Observes and monitors patient's condition and reports changes as appropriate. Ensures that all physicians' orders are signed and implemented within specified time frames.


5. Maintains safety of all patients and team members. Responds appropriately to safety hazards and reports any issues to the appropriate person. Ensures that all staff follows the infection control policy and procedure.


6. Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area.


7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Degree from an accredited school of nursing for the Licensed Practical Nurse program


• Current LPN licensure in the state in which they are working


• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats


• Basic computer skills


• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Patient's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
