Job summary

Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union Fisher Elementary School in Arlington, Vermont is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support school health services and ensure student safety. Qualifications

• One or more years of post secondary education at an accredited school for LPNs.
• Hold a valid LPN license in Vermont state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Two years of recent clinical or school nursing experience.
• Able to administer medications according to Vermont Nurse Practice Act.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the school nurse with screenings according to state standards.
• Renders first aid to staff and students.

• Administers medication in accordance with district policy.
• Follows district policies and procedures for all health care provided.
• Attends meetings as directed by the school nurse.
• Performs clerical duties as directed by the school nurse.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, agencies and community members.
• Immediately report accidents, assaults, destruction of property and abusive behavior.
• Report unauthorized persons and/or damage to appropriate authority as required.
• Attend District training as required.
• Support the value of education and the philosophy and mission of the District.

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $21 to $27 Per Hour
