Job summary

Liberty Commons of Alamance County in Burlington, NC seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our nursing team on the night shift. You will assist in directing nursing services on the unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The role requires LPN licensure in NC, willingness to cover emergencies, CPR certification, and dedication to geriatric patient care. This full-time position offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Licensed Practical Nurse with a diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid NC Board of Nursing license and renewal proof.
• Willing to work as charge nurse and cover emergencies.
• Ability to provide quality nursing care to geriatric patients.
• CPR certified yearly.
• Attend in-service trainings and staff meetings.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing services on the unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Delegate duties to nursing staff and monitor performance.
• Observe patients for signs of adverse changes in condition.
• Notify attending physician and implement orders as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

Job Description:

• Assists in direction of nursing services for unit/hall, in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Delegates duties to professional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel and monitoring work performance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Observes patients for symptoms and/or reactions, including general physical and/or mental condition for signs, which may be indicative of adverse change.
• Assists with notifying attending physician of emergencies and death of patients in the unit. Implementchanges in orders as instructed or ordered by physicians.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High school graduate.
• Licensed Practical Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing and submit proof of license renewal every other year.
• Willing to work as charge nurses, and work as needed during emergencies to assure adequate coverage.
• Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients, follow doctors’ orders, and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
• CPR certified yearly.
• Attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required.
