Job summary

Westminster Communities of Florida in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time, on-site role. The position supports an Assisted Living facility, supervising CNAs and ensuring nursing care per physician orders. Shift is 7AM–7PM, with at least three days per week and every-other-weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Assisted Living residents.
• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities by CNAs.

• Implement care per MD orders and communicate updates to MD.
• Ensure medications are administered on time per MD orders.
• Monitor vital signs (blood glucose, temperature, BP).
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, mobility).
• Ensure CNAs follow MD orders.

Description

We are currently searching for a Licensed Practical Nurse for our Assisted Living facility. In this role, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to the AL residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and in accordance with state and federal standards that govern our facility. This position reports to the AL Coordinator.

Schedule: Shift is 7AM – 7PM, for a minimum of three days a week to include every other weekend. Shift diff for evening and weekends.

• Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.
• Assist with the evaluation of residents needs.
• Assist with planning resident care based on MD orders.
• Implement resident care based on MD orders. Evaluate care and communicate with MD for updates of orders (PRN).
• Ensure that residents receive their medicine at the prescribed time by the MD order.
• Monitor blood glucose, temperature and blood pressure.
• Assist residents with Daily Living Activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transfer, ambulation, toileting and other resident needs.
• Ensure that CNAs are following MD Orders.

Qualifications:

Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse. Must be CPR Certified.

One year of long term care experience desirable. Med/Surgical, Home Health experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.

Inside environmental conditions, Blood borne pathogens, Physical hazards using equipment, and Respiratory hazards
