NaphCare, Inc. is hiring a Full‑Time LPN in Tampa, FL to join our correctional healthcare team serving Hillsborough County Jail. You will perform assessments, administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to emergencies in a secure environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Observe health and mental health status of patients.
  • Provide emergency first aid.
  • Educate patients and plan discharge/release.

Overview

NaphCare is hiring a Full‑Time LPN to join our team of medical professionals in Tampa, FL, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Hillsborough County Jail. As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care in a controlled environment in which security is top priority. Your duties will include performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. New grads are encouraged to apply – we will train you in the exciting field of correctional healthcare.

Responsibilities
  • Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history.
  • Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
  • Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas.
  • Administering medication, including injections of medications and monitoring reactions to meds.
  • Maintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, TechCare.
  • Observing patient health and mental health status.
  • Providing emergency first aid.
  • Providing patient education and discharge/release planning.
Qualifications

Experience / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Actively state‑certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred).
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening.
Physical Capabilities

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
