Job summary

Franklin Public Schools is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse - Float to support Franklin High School in Franklin, MA. The nurse will monitor student health during transport, accompany students to site visits, administer medications, and respond to health needs across activities.

The position requires a MA LPN license, experience with children, and completion of CORI/CHRI checks. Benefits include town health insurance; salary is per the FEA ESP contract.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid LPN License in the State of Massachusetts.
• Experience working with children and youth is preferred.
• Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).

Responsibilities

• Provide medical monitoring for students during van transit to and from school.
• Accompany students to community vocational sites and administer medications as needed.
• Provide medical monitoring for students participating in after-school clubs and extracurricular activities.
• Assist with administering first aid to children.
• Administer medication in accordance with school policy.
• Perform specific medical procedures as prescribed and outlined in the student’s health care plan.
• Confer with supervisor, site administrator, and the school nurse regarding student needs, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain records.
• Participate in educational programs designed to increase knowledge and enhance the quality of practical nursing care in the school setting.
• Upholds professional standards and adheres to district policies.

General Description:

The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse- Float to work at Franklin High School.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide medical monitoring for students during van transit to and from school.
  
• Accompany students to community vocational sites and administer medications as needed.
  
• Provide medical monitoring for students participating in after-school clubs and extracurricular activities.
