Job summary

Valley Vista in Bradford, VT is seeking a qualified nurse to conduct comprehensive nursing assessments at admission and manage withdrawal medications under physician orders. The role requires a Vermont license and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with day shifts on-site.

Job Details: Job Location: VV - Bradford - Bradford, VT 05033, Salary Range: $35.00 - $45.00 Hourly, Job Shift: Day, Days - three (3) 12-hours shifts per week. 07:00-19:00 OR four (4) 10-hour shifts per week 07:00-17:00

Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtains a comprehensive nursing assessment of the patient at admission
• Medicates for withdrawal symptoms, based on physicians’ orders and in compliance with organization policy.
• Initiates nursing process by planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing case based on clinical knowledge, patient needs, and data collection
• Assists medical staff as necessary and appropriate
• Collects specimens from patients as appropriate
• Documents nursing care provided including interventions and plans in patient record as required
• Maintains close communication with clinical staff regarding any medical information that may impact patient treatment plan
• Performs mental status evaluation to determine the need for further psych evaluation. May administer BDI and/or HS Can work as a member of the Valley Vista team
• Supervises LPNs and LNAs in the Nursing and Detox Program
• Trains new employees, and plans, assigns, and directors work

Qualifications: Qualifications Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two yeas related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must hold a current valid license to practice in the State of Vermont.
