Job summary
Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a part-time evening shift at Wright County Jail in Minnesota. The role supports nursing care under RN supervision, medication administration, and patient education in a corrections setting.
Responsibilities include assisting in procedures, ensuring safety, and participating in team trainings. Prior clinic experience and active LPN licensure with CPR are required.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of one year clinic experience preferred.
- Have and maintain current LPN/LVN licensure in the state of employment and CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Under RN supervision, assess patients, assist with treatment plans, and provide education as directed.
- Administer medications, including IV therapy where certified, and perform routine nursing procedures.
- Contribute to safety through standard precautions and participation in shift change counts and codes.
- Assist in minor procedures and document nursing encounters using SOAP notes.
- Attend mandatory meetings and trainings to maintain high-quality patient care.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities that align with their education and demonstrated competencies.
- Under RN supervision, assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in both the Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed.
- Implements treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administering medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and performing diagnostic tests according to established protocols and procedures.
- Collaborates in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adhering to safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines.
- Assists in medical or minor surgical procedures, implements nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and documents nursing encounters using SOAP charting, ensuring effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and other relevant personnel.
- Attends mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures in providing high-quality patient care.
Education
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience
- Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience
Licenses/Certifications
- Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
PT Evening LPN 0.4 position. ETW and on shift during a week day. Shift is 130pm-10pm.Currently Weekend would be Aug 1-2, 15-16 (this is subject to change)Must be able to train 2-3 days for the first few weeks to become comfortable to be put in the rotation. Training may consist of day shift 6-230, 8-430 or Evening 130-10pThis is an expectation.Interview to be held on site: Wright County Jail
