Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide professional clinic nursing care, following established standards and practices in our Arkansas-based clinic. You will assess patient needs, document updates, educate patients and families, and coordinate with physicians and staff.

The role requires AR LPN licensure or a valid compact-state license and AHA BLS within 30 days. This is a full-time, day-shift position with Freeman benefits and career growth opportunities.

  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 30 days.
  • Clinic Competency Assessment annually by transcript due date.
  • Current Practical Nurse license in AR or a compact state; license must be in resident state if compact.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.
  • Assesses clinical needs of patients. Updates patient records as needed.
  • Demonstrates responsible decision making in planning, providing, and delegating care based on assessment.
  • Communicates effectively with peers, staff, physicians and administration.
  • Follows appropriate chain of command to address problems that may affect patient care.
  • Assists physicians, nurse practitioners and other staff in coordinating patient care and acts as liaison between patients, staff and physicians.
  • Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and ensures cleanliness; prepares lists of needed supplies.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards; educates patient/family about procedures, medications, nutrition and health maintenance.
  • Uses the clinic’s patient data management system to maintain accurate patient records and manages NHS interface proficiently.
  • Screens patients for information to ensure accurate records before appointments; updates patient records as needed.
  • Completes paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Safely administers medications using the 5 rights; documents medications and IV solutions.
  • Maintains current medication profiles and documents medication instructions to patient/caregiver.
  • Delivers care appropriate for all patient populations and performs treatments timely and without errors.
  • Adheres to Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and professional standards of practice.

What You’ll Do

Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning,implementationand evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care based onestablishedclinical nursing practices. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Administers prescribed medication and treatmentsin accordance withnursing standards. Educatespatient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance of health and wellness. Efficientlyutilizestheclinicspatient data management system (electronic or manual) tomaintainaccuratepatient records and utilizes NHS interface in a proficient manner.

Screens patients for appropriate information to enter into the record, assuring chart is accurate and complete prior to date of appointment.

Updates patient record information changes, using department charting guidelines.

Completes paperwork accurately, completely andin a timely manner.

Safely administers any medications using the 5 rights: prepares, gives, and documents medications and IV solutions.

Maintains current medication profiles and documents medication profiles and documents medication instruction to patient/caregiver.

Demonstrates populationappropriate careand skillsetsfor all patient populations.

Performs prescribed/orderedtreatments timelyand without errors.

Complies withprofessional standards of practice and expected standards of care: Knows and adheres to the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act.

Communicates pertinent data concerning theclientsstatus and changes in plan of care with members of the health team to ensure continuity of care.

Under minimum directionis responsible for: assessment, documentation, and disposition of all designated incoming ICD and Emergency telephone calls.

Accurately collects improvement performance data as directed.

Activelyparticipatesin the development and implementation of process improvements.

Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.

Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Experience

Licensed in AR - LPN
Minimal: 6 months. Preferred: 1 year clinic experience
