Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Tomoka Correctional Institution team in Daytona Beach, FL. The role requires a valid Florida LPN license or ability to obtain one, CPR certification, and eligibility for a security clearance.

No corrections experience is required; CPT and background checks will be performed. Pay rate is $29-$32 per hour, with a day shift, Monday–Friday 8a–4:30p.

Qualifications

• Corrections experience not required.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance including drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update infection control policies with current standards in collaboration with healthcare leadership.
• Ensure infection control practices align with policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with isolation techniques to control infectious disease spread.
• Coordinate care with healthcare, laboratory, security, and state/local agencies for infection prevention.
• Assist outbreak response with leadership to control and contain spread of disease.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities focusing on infection control improvements.
• Educate staff and patients on infectious disease and safe infection control practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans including continuity of care.

We are currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Tomoka Correctional Institution located in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Pay Rate: $29-$32/hr

Monday- Friday 8a-430p

Qualifications

• Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or ability to obtain one required
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Corrections experience not required
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Infection Control

• Develop and update policies and procedures related to infection control with current standards of practice, rules and regulations in collaboration with healthcare clinical leadership
• Ensure the infection control practices of all staff are in accordance with policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with isolation techniques and procedures to control spread of infectious disease
• Work closely with healthcare staff, laboratory staff, security staff, and state and local agencies in prevention and control of infection
• Work in conjunction with local, state, site medical and custody leadership in the event of an outbreak to control and contain additional spread of disease
• Identify as promptly as possible patients and staff who have acquired infection and maintain a register of all notified infections. Provide follow-up reports in order to advise, help and prevent further spread of infection
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement Committee activities with focus on identification, investigation, follow-up and policy/process review to ensure infection control practices are maintained and safe patient care is provided
• Educate staff and patients about infectious disease and safe infection control practices and procedures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized treatment plans including continuity of care when infectious disease present. Communicate with team members individually, at team meetings and with written documentation as needed
• Share knowledge, skills and information with peers, colleagues and others. May assign tasks or delegate care based upon expected skills and knowledge
• Acquire and maintain current clinical knowledge and skills and professional standards
• Identify and maintain professional boundaries to preserve the integrity of the therapeutic process and relationship
• Ensure compliance with all facility and Company policies, Federal and state laws, regulations, accreditation standards and guidelines including HIPAA
• Coordinate care closely with security staff while maintaining a positive, collaborative relationship
• Maintain an ethical commitment to ensure confidentiality within the limits of a correctional environment
• Deliver care to patients in a nonjudgmental/nondiscriminatory manner to protect their autonomy, dignity and rights
• Understand and adhere to safety and security rules and regulations of the institution
• Other duties as assigned
