Job summary

Arizona Center for Cancer Care in Tempe, AZ is seeking a licensed nurse to perform clinical duties under physician direction. You will ensure supplies and equipment availability and maintain a friendly, caring, professional attitude for patients and families.

You will record histories, prepare exam rooms, assist during visits, document in EMR, manage supplies, answer calls, and uphold confidentiality while rotating shifts as clinic needs require.

Qualifications

• Must have satisfactorily completed formal training from an accredited School for nursing.
• Oncology nursing experience preferred.
• Computer experience with EMR knowledge.

• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a detail oriented, fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, setting up instruments and equipment.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
• Accompany patients to the appropriate exam room and assist with walking, transfers, and preparation for physicians.
• Assist and care for others, providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support.
• Document information in medical records; manage and retrieve data as needed.
• Communicate with supervisors, peers, patients, and physicians clearly.
• Use EMR systems to enter data and process information.
• Manage inventory, restock supplies, and assist with ordering supplies.
• Answer clinical phone calls and return messages promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records and clinic data.
• Performs sterilization and high-level disinfection as required.
• Rotate shifts according to clinic needs.

Job Location: RAD ONC Tempe - Tempe, AZ, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Category: Health Care, Perform clinical duties under the direction of a physician. This individual ensures that supplies and equipment are available to facilitate efficient, effective care. It is important that a friendly, caring, courteous, and professional attitude is always displayed as this person has front-line contact with patients and families.

Duties and responsibilities

• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol, cleaning exam procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height
• Accompanying patients to the appropriate exam room; assisting patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, and prepare them for the physician
• Assisting and Caring for Others — providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients
• Documenting/Recording Information — entering, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form
• Getting Information — observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
• Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, Patients, and Physicians — providing accurate messages/instructions by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
• Interacting with Computers — Using computers and electronic medical records to enter data, or process information
• Cleaning according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; managing inventory of supplies; assisting with the ordering of patient care supplies, restocking treatment rooms, exam rooms, and procedure room
• Answers clinical phone calls
• Checks phone messages hourly and return all calls before lunch, midafternoon, and prior to leaving for the day
• Complies with all AZCCC policies and procedures
• Maintains strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data
• Works shifts as assigned. Scheduled shifts/locations will rotate according to clinic needs
• Performs sterilization and high-level disinfection
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor, physician assistant(s), physician (s), and clinic administrator

Qualifications: Qualifications/Education Requirements
