Lotus Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Orlando, FL is seeking an LPN to monitor and support resident progress as admissions occur. You will collaborate with CNAs and PCAs, administer medications, and contribute to care plans with thorough documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review, communicate and contribute to the day-to-day functions of the CNA and PCA.
• Provide medications by mouth, subcutaneous or intramuscular injections as ordered.
• Complete wound care as ordered to improve skin integrity.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift for continuity of care.
• Communicate with family members of residents as needed in the event of receiving new orders.
• Participate and shine in center surveys (inspections).
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plans.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
• Chart in electronic files using Point Click Care in an informative and descriptive manner.
• Receive telephone orders from physicians on duty.
• Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
• Ensure that narcotics are handled in accordance with regulations.
• Participate in associate performance evaluations and make recommendations to the Nurse Supervisor.
• Develop work assignments.
• Make daily rounds of your unit/shift to ensure resident safety.
• Meet with the nursing personnel on your shift regularly to improve services.
• Administer professional services such as catheterizations, tube feedings, suction, dressings/bandages, etc.
• Attend and participate in all center in-service programs as required.
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education programs, seminars, and training programs.
