Job summary

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Cumberland County Prison nursing team in Carlisle, PA.

This full-time night position supports inmate health services and coordinates with the medical director and staff to provide compassionate care. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, medication administration, EMR documentation, and adherence to state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to function under supervision.
• Demonstrate clinical competency.
• Experience in correctional health care delivery system, a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care and ensure proper information flow to staff.
• Maintain, update, and secure electronic medical records.
• Maintain records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps.
• Conduct inmate sick calls and provide treatment per protocol.
• Observe, report, and document symptoms and progress; assist in care planning.
• Record and file medical information in inmate records.
• Administer medications and document for MAT patients.
• Attend weekly MAT and IDT meetings.

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for dedicated and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in the medical department at the Cumberland County Prison located in Carlisle, PA.

Schedules available:

• Full Time Night Shift (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)

Job Responsibilities:

• The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is disseminated to appropriate personnel. In addition, the Licensed Practical Nurse will also maintain, update, and work with electronic medical records and ensure that they are secure. Other responsibilities will include:
• Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
• Conducting sick calls for inmates/patients and providing treatment for illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
• Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmates/patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of care.
• Record, retrieve, and file medical information in the inmate/patient medical record.
• MAT Nurses will be responsible for Medication Administration and documentation.
• MAT Nurses will also be responsible for attending weekly MAT meetings and IDT meetings.

(Please note that the pay range is not a sliding scale based on experience; it reflects the base pay as well as the differentials offered between shifts.)
